Paint

Paint, primer, and sealer are used all over the place. It is easy to lose track of which product was used where, so this is our log.

Garden shed

For the walls we used BEHR Red Exterior Barn and Fence Paint from Home Depot (Model # 02501, Internet # 100132971, Store SKU # 392472). It wasn’t available for ordering online, but it was on the self at our local store. It didn’t go as far as the can claimed it would. We ended up needing about 1.5 gallons.

For the trim we used BEHR White Exterior Barn and Fence Paint from Home Depot (Model # 03501, Internet # 100200471, Store SKU # 393161). It wasn’t available for ordering online, but it was on the self at our local store.

These paints were inexpensive ($14.98/gallon less our 20% discount) and had excellent coverage. Two coats would probably have been preferred, but one coat still looked great.

Interior trim

I wasn’t able to find a link to our trim paint online, but we used BEHR Marquee interior semi-gloss enamel ultra pure white #3450, tinted Polar Bear 1875. It is very expensive even with our 20% discount, but has great coverage and durability on the trim.

Ceilings

First we primed with Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 1 gal. White Water Based Interior/Exterior Primer and Sealer from Home Depot (Model # 2001, Internet # 100398391, Store SKU # 389749). We paid $19.98/gallon less our 20% discount.

I wasn’t able to find a link to our ceiling paint online, but we used BEHR Premium Plus Ultra ceiling flat ultra pure white #5558, tinted Polar Bear 75. We paid $27.97/gallon less our 20% discount. It is very thick and easy to apply.

Closets

We painted the walls and ceiling in the closets a single color. We also painted over the shower plumbing access panels.

Then we painted with untinted BEHR Premium Plus Ultra #UL260-14 Ultra Pure White Interior Semi-Gloss Enamel Paint from Home Depot (Model # 375001, Internet # 202876983). The can is labeled Ultra Pure White 3750. We paid $34.98/gallon less our 20% discount. It took two coats for the ceiling and walls, and four coats to fully cover the shower plumbing access panels.

Master bedroom

Jacob skim coated the walls then sealed with Zinsser Gardz High Performance Sealer from Zoro (Zoro #: G1244582, Mfr # 2301). We paid $23.13/gallon. It isn’t cheap but it works great for bare drywall.

We painted with BEHR Premium Plus Ultra #PPU12-14 (Verdigris) Medium Base Interior Matte 1754. It took two coats, just over a gallon total, for the whole room. I used a Wooster Brush R206-9 Super Doo-Z Roller Cover 3/16-Inch Nap, 9-Inch cover from Amazon.

Master Bathroom

We painted with BERH Premium Plus Ultra #PPU12-11 Interior Satin. For the color we went with Salt Glaze, adjusted to 75% at the store. It was just a tad too dark at full strength.

Floors

Our floors are stained with Minwax Wood Finish Oil-based Interior Stain Gunstock 231, diluted 50% with polyurethane to lighten the color.

To fill holes and dings we use Minwax WoodPutty Colonial Maple 923.
